SUSAN JOYCE PROCK

It is with much sadness and great love, that we announce the passing of  Susan Joyce Prock, 76, of rural Kingsville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at her home.

Susan was born August 6, 1944 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Elizabeth (Olson) Dado.

She graduated from Red Oak High School, Class of ‘62. She worked for Western Electric in Omaha for 10 years, and later transferred to Western Electric in Lee’s Summit.

She was united in marriage to Dennis B. Prock on May 9, 1975 in Independence, Missouri. After 33 years in Independence, the couple moved near Kingsville.

Susan enjoyed life in the country and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed baking and music…anything that got her foot tapping. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed her goats and schnauzers. She would also frequently send cards to brighten someone’s day. Susan had a great laugh and a contagious smile. She was kind, generous and lovingly stubborn.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis; daughter, Angela Cherington (Josh) of Pleasant Hill, MO; two sons, Brian Prock (fiance’ Carol Hunter) of Gainesville, MO and Michael Prock (Trischa) of Pleasant Hill, MO; and six grandchildren, Michael J. Prock, Adam J. Prock, Dalton Prock, Wyatt Prock, Gracelyn Cherington and Elijah Cherington; two sisters, Catherine Reddick of Independence, MO and Joan Englin of Alexandria, MN; two brothers, Richard Dado (Pam) of Duluth, MN and Ralph Dado of Red Oak, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Dado; and sister, Barbara Johnson.

Due to COVID, a Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at a later date.
