ANGELA “ANGIE” KAYE (REEVE) NAGY

Angela “Angie” Kaye (Reeve) Nagy, 63, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and friends.
Angie was born in Ottawa, Kansas on September 26, 1957 to Patricia M. (Reeve) Walters.

Angie had a caring heart and an outgoing personality; she passionately lived every minute of life to the fullest.

Angie graduated from Holden High School in 1975. Following graduation, Angie became a very talented Executive Administrative Assistant. She was known for her professional work ethic, attention to detail, and her kindness – even in difficult circumstances. Angie was an employee of Norbrook, Inc. at the time of her passing.

Formerly, she had shared her talents with NCM Associates, Bayer Health Care, and Flowers Bakery.

Angie found true love in this life through her children, Mandy Dawn (Stout) Gist and Shawn Allen Stout. Her children were her greatest accomplishments.

However, her favorite title in life began on May 26, 2010, when she became the world’s best “Meme” to her grandson, Cylus Lee Gist. Her infectious smile and bright blue eyes lit up every minute she spent with Cylus. From their adventures at the beach to movie dates at Meme’s, Cylus and Meme shared so much laughter and love.

Angie loved traveling to tropical locations with her best friend, Lisa. No matter the occasion, she always dressed her best, had her fingernails perfectly manicured, and her hair was always beautiful.

Angie spent many days of her life cheering on her other loves, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Angie was a friend to many and foe to none. She was known for being a trusted confidant and someone who was always there for those who needed a helping hand.

In April of 2016, Angie was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. From the first day of her diagnosis until her passing, Angie never stopped fighting. She defied the odds more than once, never let cancer stop her from living life to the fullest, and she bravely inspired others with her positive attitude. In her words, she wasn’t sick, she “just had cancer.”

Angie is survived by her daughter, Mandy (Chris) Gist of Navarre, FL; son, Shawn Stout of Melbourne, FL; grandson, Cylus Gist of Navarre, FL; sister, Jataner (Jerry) Lyne of Enterprise, KS; sister, Elizabeth Markle of Burton, KS; her mother, Patricia (Terry) Walters of Enterprise, KS; and many extended family members and friends.

For her family members and friends who remain, may this obituary serve as a reminder of Angie’s endless love for her family and friends, her tenacious passion for life and her faith in God.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Spencer; sister, Theresa Spencer-Urton; grandparents, Harold and Mae (Randolph) Reeve; uncle, Jimmie Dale Reeve; uncle, Billie Joe Reeve; aunt, Cheryl “Dianne” Reeve; aunt, Helen (Reeve) Karigan; uncle, Larry Lombard; and cousins, Dustin Michael Maimer and Daniel Blaine Maimer.

Keeping with her love of the ocean, beach, and peaceful waves, Angela “Angie” Kaye (Reeve) Nagy will rest eternally as coral reef following cremation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cylus Gist Education Fund or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of the Lower Plains, and sent in care of Campbell-Cast Funeral Home, 407 Pine Street, Holden, MO 64040.
