BETTIE MARIE (PITTAM) MILLER

Bettie Marie (Pittam) Miller, 85, of Marshall, Missouri, formerly of Holden, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at The Living Center of Marshall, Missouri.

Bettie was born on June 22, 1935 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Frederick and Ruby (Perkins) Pittam.

Bettie married Donald Dennis Miller on April 9, 1960; he preceded her in death on June 3, 2016. Bettie enjoyed taking care of her family and loved being a homemaker.

She was a bookkeeper for Alward Products in the early 1970s.

Bettie was a member of the Kingsville, Baptist Church.

She was a member of the Basin Knob Club. She led the Youth Group at the Enon Baptist Church.

Bettie was a leader for the Camp Fire Girls of America in Kansas City and helped with the 4-H Group in Pittsville, Missouri.

Bettie is survived by two daughters, Marie L. (Miller) Gudde and husband Jerry L. Gudde of Holden, MO, April D. (Miller) Conner-Hutchison and Larry D. Hutchison of Marshall, MO; two sisters, Gracie and Marietta; one brother, Raymond; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Bettie was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carmen D. Miller in 1979. Visitation for family and friends was from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Campbell-Cast Funeral Home (407 S. Pine, Holden, MO).

Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John McRoy officiating.

Interment was in the Holden Cemetery, Holden, MO. Pallbearers were Spencer Gudde, Drew Gudde, Andy Gawf, Danny Gawf, Nathan Conner and Matthew Conner. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Gawf, Jerry Gudde, Larry Hutchison and James Maddock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingsville Baptist Church or to the family of Bettie M. Miller.

    Bettie was a sister I loved and adores who would never really accept me nor my mother Nevada Francis Duncan Pittam who married her father , my dad and raised his family having a son Wm. E. Billy Toney and three other’s I being the eldest. Now as of August 2, 2023, Only Gracie and I are still surviving.
    Betty as I always knew you, If God in Heaven allows it, I pray that he let’s you know I always loved you as my older sister. Life was not my fault. and my mother loved you as her own, no matter the circumstances. I feel this needed to be said before I to die very soon from now.
