LARRY D. MEYER – December 17, 1941 – October 17, 2020

Larry Dee Meyer, age 78, passed away in his sleep in Belton, Missouri on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

Larry was born on December 17, 1941 in Warsaw, Missouri, the eldest son of Lawrence Eugene Meyer and Gloria Lorayne (Hart) Meyer.

Larry grew up in Warsaw, Missouri and attended Warsaw High School.

Larry loved sports and he played them in high school where he did very well in baseball and basketball.

Larry loved the outdoors, often going fishing and hunting which he really loved to do with Edna’s father Jim Wallen.

On April 14, 1963, Larry was united in marriage to Edna Wallen. They lived in Warsaw, Missouri until 1969.

Then in 1969, they moved to Lenexa, Kansas and then later on to Shawnee, Kansas where they raised their two children.

Larry worked many years in management for Milgram’s Grocery Stores. In 2007, Larry and Edna decided to move to Kingsville, Missouri to enjoy retirement in a small quiet town.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and sharing stories from his childhood.

Larry loved hunting and fishing but was unable to do this in his later years due to physical disabilities.

He would pass the time watching old movies, with old westerns being his favorites.

Larry had an amazing memory and relished in telling facts about the actors and actresses from many of the old movies.

Larry is survived by his son, Michael Meyer and wife, Trish of Raymore, Missouri; his daughter, Michelle (Meyer) Millican and husband, Scott Millican of Basehor, Kansas.

Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Corey Meyer, Makenzie Meyer, Brevin Millican, Cade Millican, and Kellen Millican; his brother, Robert Meyer of Moberly, Missouri; and his sister, Gloria Meyer of Warsaw, Missouri; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lorayne; his wife Edna; and his brother, Jerry Meyer.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri.
