LARRY LEE WILLARD

Larry Lee Willard, 78, of Odessa, MO, passed away October 4, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Larry was born on March 2, 1942 in Higginsville, MO, to Henry and Marion Lee (Gunn) Willard.

After graduating from Odessa High School, he went to UMKC for two years and served four years in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965.

A huge NASCAR and Sprint car fan, Larry took many trips to Indianapolis and Knoxville for race day. He was happiest when he had a car to tinker with. He careered as a ballistics specialist at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, having retired in 2000.

Survivors include two daughters, Kellie Morrison (Ron) of Leawood, KS and Brandi Cochran of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Mallory, Mitchell, Addison and Austin; and a brother, Robert Willard (Sue) of Mayview, MO.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Deborah; and daughter, Tessa Hatcher.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Holden, MO, with Pastor Tim Whitmore officiating.

Military Graveside Honors will be provided by Holden VFW, Memorial Post #5844 and Munday-Hancock Post #90, American Legion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the charity of your choice.
