WILLIAM EUGENE HULL

 

William Eugene Hull, 82, of Holden, Missouri, passed Friday, September 11, 2020 at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bill was born May 7, 1938 in Columbus, Kansas, the son of William R. Hull and Betty L. (Kerns) Hull.

He graduated from East High School in Wichita.

He was united in marriage to Glenna M. Smutz on May 15, 1960 in Wichita. The couple made their home in Wichita for several years, where Bill started out working for Boeing.

In 1967, they moved to Kansas City. Bill graduated from Meat Cutting School in Toledo, Ohio and subsequently became a meat cutter.

Bill and Glenna moved near Holden in 1974.

He was an avid fisherman, and loved to take his family on vacation where fishing was the main event.

He also loved farming. He was a devoted member of the Holden United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife, Glenna; four children, Gwen J. Hedrick (David) of Garden City, MO; Valorie D. Bryant (Terry) of Holden, MO; Stephanie A. Fisher (Kevin) of Warrensburg, MO; and William B. “Brad” Hull (Carrie) of Holden, MO; brother, Roger D. Hull (Judy) of Emporia, KS; 11 grandchildren, Michelle Grego (Brandon), Deborah Perkins (Carl), Alan Bryant (Stevi), Molly Bryant, Abigail Arcilla (Christian), Trevor Elkins (Lottie Williams), Benjamin Elkins, Kyle Elkins (Taylor Kilson), Cooper Fisher, Matthew Hull and Kari Hull; and also five great-grandchildren, Charles Grego, Parker Grego, Wyatt Perkins, Elizabeth Bryant and Beckham Elkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Jessica L. Sechrest.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Medford Cemetery, located south of Holden with Pastor Rob Allen of Holden United Methodist Church officiating.

Pallbearers will be Alan Bryant, Benjamin Elkins, Trevor Elkins, Kyle Elkins, Carl Perkins, Brandon Grego and Christian Arcilla.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Johnson County Cancer Foundation, or the Holden United Methodist Church, in care of Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
