R-I Board Approves Election Results

 

The Kingsville School Board approved election results at its regular monthly meeting, held June 11.

Those elected to fill the three, three-year terms were as follows: Julie Stout, Mike Collens and Todd Brendel. Stephanie Smith was elected to fill a one-year term and ran unopposed.

The board voted to approve the results of the June 2 election.

The oath of office was administered to the newly elected members.

The new board then held election of officers, and the following were named to the new slate of officers: Julie Stout, president; Mike Collens, vice president; Stephanie Smith, secretary; and Kathy Mallinson, treasurer.

In financial news, board members voted to approve the preliminary budget for the 2020-21 school year. They also approved the 2019-2020 budget as presented.

In a meal pricing update, the board set the 2020-21 breakfast price at $1.95; and lunch prices are set at $2.10 for elementary; and $2.30 for secondary.

In other board actions, members designated Amanda Schoenherr as the Title 1 contact person; and Rachel Wallace as the Special Education contact person.

In other business, the board re-adopted the Nepotism, Conflict of Interest, and Financial Disclosure of Ordinance for the Kingsville R-1 School District.

There being no further business, the Kingsville School Board meeting closed, to reopen in July.
