BETTY JEAN BRILLHART
Betty Jean Brillhart, 90, Holden, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 14 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Betty Jean Brillhart was born August 3, 1929 in Kingsville, Missouri, daughter of Joseph Hobbs and Cora (Epple) Hobbs. She graduated high school in Kingsville, Missouri in 1947 and was united in marriage to Melvin L. Brillhart on August 21, 1948 in Peculiar, Missouri.
The couple lived north of Holden for 47 years. They had resided in Holden for the past 16 years.
Betty worked at Western Electric for many years.
Betty was a member of the Holiday Rambler Club and also, Pioneers of Western Electric.
The couple enjoyed traveling in retirement. Betty was an avid collector of glass slippers and thoroughly enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Kent) Eubanks of Holden, MO; son, Melvin (Linda) Brillhart of Kingsville, MO; five grandchildren, Mike (Nelda) Brillhart of Kingsville, MO; Kevin (Bonnie) Brillhart of Aurora, CO; Tonya (Lee) Adams of Overland Park, KS; Nick Eubanks of Holden, MO; and Julie (Jeremy) Young of Firestone, CO; and three great-grandchildren, Samantha Brillhart, Tori Young and Noah Young.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Brillhart; sisters, Nadine Higgins, Virginia Dryer, Dorothy Preston, Rosethel Bailey, Luevina Wallace, Barbara Hobbs; and brother, Neal Hobbs.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will be holding a private funeral service with interment to follow at the Holden Cemetery.
