Richard Louis Gavoli Jr.

Richard Louis Gavoli Jr. passed away peacefully on the morning of September 9, 2024.
Richard was born in New Haven Connecticut on October 26, 1949 to Richard Louis Gavoli Sr and Clementina Gavoli.
He was a graduate of East Haven High School in 1967 and later joined the Navy, serving his country from 1968-1972 in the Mediterranean on two fuel ships, the USS Amphion and USS Caloosahatchee, and a ship fitter and Hull Maintenance Technician, where he learned his skill of welding.
On May 29, 1971, he married the love of his life, RoseAnn Spargo, of Derby, Ct. and they had four beautiful children.
He joined Millwrights Local Union # 1529 in Kansas City in 1975. During the late 80’s and early 90’s, he followed his dream of owning his own company, and returned to Connecticut and started Gavco Welding, before returning back to Missouri and rejoining the Millwrights in 1992 till retirement in 2009.
Richard enjoyed fishing, sports and most of all his family. Richard was loved by many and his memories will live on through all that knew him.
He is survived by wife, RoseAnn Gavoli; a son, Michael (Jenni) of Kingsville; and a daughter, Angela (Randall) of Blue Springs, five grandchildren; Vincent, Lucas, Sophia, Amelia and Julia, and one great grandchild, Julie-Anne.
He is preceded in death by two children; Anthony Gavoli and JulieAnne Barksdale.
Celebration of Life Services were held Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden, Missouri.
Interment followed at the Holden Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
