Ethel Louise Carter

Ethel Louise Carter, 95 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; formerly of Holden passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Addington Place in Lee’s Summit.
Ethel was born September 19, 1928 in Denton, Missouri the daughter of Wallace H. and Louise (Neal) Eagleson.
She graduated from Holden High School. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Edward “Red” Carter on March 26, 1948 in Warrensburg. The couple resided in Kansas City for a time, prior to moving to Holden.
Ethel loved doing ceramics. She also enjoyed square dancing, bowling and CB radios.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Husser of Pembroke, VA; son, Larry Carter (Debi) of Lee’s Summit, MO; four grandchildren: Wendy Nyhus (Greg) of Lee’s Summit, MO; Misty Terrell (Jim) of Pleasant Hill, MO; Angela Shepherd (Jason) of Blacksburg, VA and Kimberly Moulton – Carter of Pembroke, VA; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Red and two siblings: Worley Eagleson and Lorene Short.
Funeral Services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, at Abundant Life Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit with Interment following at the Holden Cemetery.
The family received friends, one hour prior to service, Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
