Norman Lee Briscoe

Norman Lee Briscoe, 93 of Holden, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at his home in Holden, Missouri.

He was born Monday, June 09, 1930, in Holden, Missouri, to the late Ralph and Glenna (Towles) Briscoe.

Norman went to Holden High School where he graduated and received his diploma.

He married Dana (Hough) Briscoe in 1949, they spent the next 64 years together until Dana’s passing in 2014. They made their home in Pittsville where they owned a farm until they moved to Holden and spent the next 35 years continuing to farm in the Holden area.

The couple raised four children together, two sons: Ray, and Steve, two daughters, Susan, and Kathy.

Besides being a farmer, Norman was involved in different organizations throughout his life. He was a Deacon at Enon Baptist Church, member of the Holden R3 School Board for 21 years (1966-1987), served on the Soil Board for the USDA, member of the Dairy Association, was very active with the West Central Baptist Association as well as a member of the Chilhowee Antique Farm Machinery Collectors Organization.

He was a fun-loving person who loved life and his family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Surviving his passing are his sons, Ray (Sandra) Briscoe, Holden, MO, Steve (Debbie) Briscoe; daughters Susan (Gary) Strate, Holden MO, and Kathy (Chip) Sharp, Rocheport, MO; brothers Ed (Glenda) Briscoe, Basehor, KS and William (Sharon) Briscoe, Holden, MO; sisters Patricia Wolfenbarger, Holden, MO, Sharon (Dale) Sauer, Kingsville, MO, Jean Shippy, Centerview, MO; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Preceding Norman in death are his parents Ralph Briscoe and Glenna (Towles) Christian; his wife Dana (Hough) Briscoe; son James Briscoe at birth; sister Betty Gray; Great-Grandson in-law Eric Thomason.

The family had a memorial service on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Visitation was held at Campbell-Cast Funeral home 407 S. Pine St. in Holden, MO.
