The Holden Area Chamber of Commerce held an invitation-only awards dinner this year on Tuesday, December 15, at Jamie’s Place in Holden.
The gathering was limited to award winners and a few board members due to the current health situation.
Holden Chamber President Jennifer Smithson welcomed everyone and dinner was catered by Jamie’s Place.
The President’s Award was presented to Jamie Thieman for all the hard work and effort she not only puts in to the Holden Area Chamber of Commerce, but also for all she does for the community.
She’s an incredible community partner and has a generous and giving heart.
The Horizon Award for this year was given to a couple who spends a lot of time doing good things around town each and every day.

Horizon Award Winners… David and Naomi Chastain are the 2020 recipients of the Chamber of Commerce Horizon Award. The Chastains were selected for the honor because of the time they spend doing good things for the community each and every day. The Chamber hosted an awards dinner on December 15, however, the Chastains were unable to attend so Chamber members delivered the award and meals to their home. Photo submitted
“They weren’t able to join us, so we went to them and delivered their meal and presented their award,” said Smithson.
“Congratulations to David and Naomi Chastain, the 2020 Horizon Award winners and thank you for all you do all the time with a smile and no concern of any recognition!”
Lastly, all other attendees were surprised by a new award given in 2020, The Holden Hope award. The Chamber of Commerce board approved this new award after the recommendation by Jennifer Smithson to present this to those who had a hand in Holden’s Magic Tree of Hope.
