Memorial Tractor Cruise Show Set For August 1

By Kingsville Rec Club
KARES Program

The 8th annual Bryan Simms Memorial Tractor Cruise, sponsored by the Kingsville Recreation Club – Kingsville Area Residents Exceptional Services (KARES) program, is scheduled for this Saturday August 1, 2020.

This year’s event is the “Show Me Tour,” and we are going to mix it up a bit by cruising for a little over 20 miles through Kingsville and Holden and then gathering for a tractor show.

The tractor show will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Kingsville City Park, located on Highway 58. We welcome the public to come look at the tractors, visit with the owners, and vote for their favorite!

This event is held in memory of Bryan Simms and the proceeds benefit the Memorial Academic Scholarship Fund, which is awarded annually to a Kingsville High School senior. All donations are welcome!

Drivers will report to the Kingsville Anstine Livestock Auction Barn on Saturday, August 1 for check-in between 8 and 8:30 a.m.

Those participants choosing to “SHOW” their tractor, but not cruise, should report to the Kingsville City Park between 9:30 and 11 a.m. for check-in and registration.

The Cruise and/or Show are open to all tractor makes, models, and years. There is a minimum donation of $30 per tractor/driver and entry includes a t-shirt and one lunch.

The tractor cruisers will depart from the Kingsville Livestock Auction at 9 a.m. and cruise by Holden City Lake and then onto Road 100 and Highway 131 into Holden.

The tractor cruisers should arrive at the Holden City Park at about 10 a.m. and will take a short break before heading back to Kingsville.

The caravan is scheduled to depart the Holden City Park at approximately 10:30 a.m. for the return trip to Kingsville.

The cruisers will head down SW 400 Rd., over to 500 Rd., and then back to T Highway. The cruise will end at the Kingsville City Park as participants gather for the show.

The “SHOW” will be held from 12 until 2 p.m. at the Kingsville City Park on 58 Highway.

Lunch will be provided for registered cruisers/show participants and Nadler’s Meats of Wellington, Missouri is donating the brisket! Lunch is available to spectators when a donation is made to the scholarship fund.

The public will be invited to vote for “Best in Show” (restored) and “Best Fence Row Find” (not restored).
We will also recognize the oldest living tractor on display. Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. All registered participants will be entered in a raffle.
