Holden District Offering Summer Meal Program

Friday, May 15, 2020, marked the end of the Holden R-III District’s school year in a different fashion than ever before.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Hough sent a letter home to parents on May 14, detailing the upcoming summer meal program and planned summer school.

He also thanked families for their help in what was an unprecedented end to the school year.

“Thank you for partnering with your child’s teachers to continue learning throughout this spring of uncertainty,” Dr. Hough said. “While instructional supports will cease for this school year, meals will continue for those who sign up, as we transition into our Summer Meal Program.

“Tentative plans for a potential Summer School in July are being considered as we monitor guidelines from state and county health officials and regulations from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.”

More information regarding Summer School will be sent to parents later in June.

At Holden, The Summer Meal Program has offered FREE meals to all kids ages 0-18, for several summers.

Parents will still be able to receive breakfast, lunch and supper for their child(ren) daily on weekdays from Monday, May 18 through Friday, August 21. However, delivery to bus stops is not approved for this program.
