Wesley Scott Goldsmith

Wesley Scott Goldsmith, 47, of Holden, Missouri, passed away on June 4, 2025, at his home in Lake Lotawana, surrounded by friends and family, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

Though he may have left this world, his memory will live on in our hearts, a testament to his profound impact on those blessed to know him.

Born on September 16, 1977, in Warrensburg, Missouri, Wes lived with heart, humor, and a fierce love for the people in his life.

He was most recently a commercial construction project manager with Rick Shipman Construction in Dexter, Missouri, though many knew and loved him from his years managing Whiskey Tango in Grain Valley, where he left a lasting impression on countless lives.

He grew up in Holden, Missouri and had life-long relationships with many friends.

Wes is survived by his daughter, Maddison Goldsmith of Shawnee, Kansas, whom he adored and spoke of with unwavering pride; his mother, Jerrie Goldsmith of Holden, Missouri; his sister, Sara Foster and her husband Shaughnessy of Belton, Missouri and his loyal dog, Merle Haggard. He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Goldsmith; grandparents Harley and June Goldsmith of Kingsville, Missouri; and grandparents Kenneth and Lula Renick of Holden, Missouri.

Wes will be remembered for his humor, his heart, and the countless lives he touched. He was a loyal, sturdy friend—the one everyone leaned on. The kind of man who showed up before you were ready, stayed after everyone else left, and made the hard days easier just by being there. He had a sharp tongue, a wicked sense of humor, and a soft, steady soul. His baby blue eyes may have gotten him into trouble more often than not, and he loved deeply and lived loudly. There isn’t a country road that will be traveled or a river floated without the memory of Wesley Scott Goldsmith riding along.
A memorial service was held Sunday, June 22, at the Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, followed by a celebration of life at Lotawana Brewing Company in Lake Lotawana. www.langsfordfuneral home.com
