Clarabelle Walton

Clarabelle Walton at a young age of 94 passed away on the 2nd of February 2026.

Her self biography included the following:

“I was born January 12, 1932 to Clyde Earl and Opal Marie Hudson Courtney.

“I went to a one room school for 5 years, then rode the bus to Holden.

“I was a member of the Future Reachers, 4H club, Magnolia Methodist Church.

“I was in the band, chorus, pep club, and order of rainbow for girls.

“I graduated from Holden high school as valedictorian in 1949. I attended collage at Central Missouri State in Warrensburg. I was a member of the Alpa Phi Sigma and a representative of the freshman class for student government.

“I went to work at Bendeix Aviation (during WWII).

“I met my husband, we were married September 23, 1951. We had 5 children (Ann, Glen, John, Marvin, Mark).

“I was baptized in Belton Christian church. Robert and I moved to Lees Summit, Missouri where Robert worked for the Gas service company.

“We went to church at Santa Fe Christian Church.

“I worked at Stringers Safety Company and did commercial sewing. When he retired in 1990, we moved to Kingsville, Missouri.

“I moved my church membership to First Christian Church in Holden, Missouri.

“Puzzles, sewing and crocheting were my hobbies. I was in Sews & Sews making quilts for nursing homes and veterans.”

God, family, and friends were the very important to her.

She spent a lot of her free time making quilts, costumes, dresses, stuffed animals, clothes, waterproof bags made out of grocery bags for others. She loved collecting antiques, going to actions and garage sales.

She was preceded in death by Clyde and Opal Courtney (parents), Robert Walton (husband), John Walton (son), brothers and sisters; Earl and Ruth Courtney, Alice and Bill Repp, JS Walton, Mildred Stimpson, Linda Keen.

She is survived by her four children; Ann and Bob Martel, Glen and Wanda Walton, Marvin and Gail Walton, and Mark Walton; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Clarabelle was held at the Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026
The funeral service was held at Langsford Funeral Home 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Pallbearers were: Mark Walton, Ben Walton, Brad Walton, Andrew Martel, Jacob King, and Jason King.

Honorary pallbearers were: Bryan Walton, Bryce Walton, and Brian Harris.

Officiating was Pastor Tim Whitmore.

Interment was held at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Arrangements were by by Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit, MO.
