Veterans Village Central Topic Of Holden City Council At Nov. 20 Meeting
Public comments concerning the support and work of Camp Valor Outdoors/Veterans Village was a central item of discussion when the Holden City Council met Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Holden City Hall.

During the Public and Community Organization Comments period, four individuals made public comments in support of either the work of Camp Valor Outdoors or the Veterans Village.
No specific issues were stated for consideration by the council. However, the feeling was expressed the City of Holden was not supportive of the Veteran’s Village.
Retired Marine Major John Schwent, CVO Executive Director was then allowed 10 minutes to present the latest accomplishments at the Veteran’s Village and some possible plans for the future (through a previously coordinated discussion with Mayor Briscoe).
In his presentation Schwent asserted previously stated concerns by the Holden Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) were not consistent with previous agreements.
