Recognitions, New Business Items Mark Kingsville R-1 BOE Meeting

Several recognitions and new business items highlighted the Thursday, July 10 meeting of the Kingsville R-I Board Of Education.

After approving the agenda, the board presented recognitions to the Class Of 2025 valedictorian, salutatorian and spring sports honorees.

Old Business
Afterwards, old business was taken up. Just one item was discussed, that having to do with the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). In that, the Safety and Security and Board Of Education had a follow up discussion in which action steps were gone over.

New Business
In new business items, Sarah Evinger opened by making a motion to approve the 2025-2026 Emergency/Crisis Plan and Procedures as presented. After being seconded by Kelly Stout, The motion carried 5-0. Voting in the affirmative were board members Todd Brendel, Evinger, Stout Lindsey Bush and Daniel Mitstifer. Absent from the meeting were Ed Barnett and Jill Schutchfield.

Next Lindsey Bush made a motion to approve the 2025-2026 milk bid from Sunnyside Dairy with the pricing of 8 oz 1% carton white milk at $.423, 8 oz 1% carton chocolate milk at .427, and 5 lb. cottage cheese at $15.25. Daniel Mitstifer seconded. The motion carried 5-0.

Following, Daniel Mitstifer made a motion to approve the 2025-2026 Bus Fuel Bid from MFA Oil Company with the following pricing:

• Clear Ultra Low Sulfur #2 Diesel will be delivered at .05 cents under the current full load price plus all applicable taxes.

• Today’s price would be $2.70 per gallon plus applicable taxes. With applicable taxes the price would be $2.99 per gallon. Lindsey Bush seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
