Routine Business Items, Personnel Matters Addressed At Kingsville R-1 BOE Meeting
Several old and new business items and personnel matters were addressed when the Kingsville R-I School Board Of Education met Thursday, Feb. 13.
After approval of the minutes from it’s previous meeting, and approval of the agenda, with bills totaling $110,864.78, the board moved into old business items. Only one of these required a vote – that being when Ed Barnett made a motion to approve the 2025-2026 School Year Calendar as presented, with adding a slash on November 21 for early release day. Lindsey Bush seconded the motion and it carried 7-0.
New business items opened with Daniel Mitstifer making a motion to approve the Comprehensive Literacy Plan as presented. Sarah Evinger seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
Next, came a motion made by Sarah Evinger to keep the current tuition rate of $11,770. Jill Scrutchfield seconded, and the motion carried 7-0.
Following were a series of written reports by Christene Bradfield on the art department; Joey Hanes on music and band; and Tyler Crotty on industrial tech projects.
After a discussion on Title Services Midyear Report, Rachel Wallace and Amanda Schoenherr presented a written report on enrollment numbers, attendance updates, upcoming dates, teacher updates, the Iready Midyear report and the high school schedule for next year.
