Holden City Council Holds Monthly Meeting
The Holden City Council held its monthly meeting Thursday Oct. 17.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation by Mayor Ray Briscoe.
Councilman Jim McDaniel and Councilman Guy Barwick were absent at roll call.
The minutes from the September meeting were approved without discussion, as were the monthly appropriations/expenditures after Councilwoman Julie Fields questioned Assistant Police Chief Pete Weiss about the body cameras on the expenditures list.
Mayor Ray Briscoe then mentioned that the City of Holden received a thank-you card from Tracy Brantner for the council’s continuing partnership with the Johnson County Economic Development Corporation. He continued by saying the mill and overlay project was completed. He also updated the council on the Comprehensive City Plan stating a copy is in the hands of the attorney for review. He also updated the Dollar Tree project saying the city has given them a Certificate of Occupancy since Dollar Tree complied with FEMA regulations…
