Holden City Council Receives Departmental Reports At August Meeting

Before getting to the business portion of the August meeting of the Holden City Council, Mayor Ray Briscoe spoke about it being a busy time of year with school starting and the street fair. He requested the citizens be extra cautious with the school buses and extra people out.

He also recognized the passing of Sue Heiman. Mayor Briscoe stated with sadness the City of Holden noted the passing of Evellyn “Sue” Heiman and wished to acknowledge the legacy of her business, economic and civic contributions to our city.

With that, the Mayor moved to department reports.

• Police Chief Mayhew provided a written report and well as delivered it in the meeting. Chief Mayhew reported the following items:
Incident reports – 42; Misdemeanors – 25; Felonies – 3; Warrant arrest – 3; Domestics – 1; Miscellaneous reports – 4; Agency assist – 1; MVC – 0; Animal at large – 1; Traffic Summons – 57; Traffic Warning – 116. For Codes/Animal Control: Codes cases – 4; Animal At Large/ License – 6; Vicious Animal – 1; Nuisance – 0; Business – 0.

• Fire Chief Mike Wakeman then provided a written report and well as delivering it in person. His report included: one firefighter was added to the staff and now have a staff of 16. Engine 211 had batteries replaced.
