Resolutions, Bills Approved By City Council, Police Chief Reports Major Problems With HPD’s Building

The second portion of the Holden City Council meeting of July 20 saw several bills and resolutions passed, as well as report by the Holden Chief of Police about the department’s building condition.
Beginning with resolutions, Mayor Ray Briscoe brought the body’s attention to Resolution No. R23-012 Parks and Recreation Board.

This called for the old score board at the Holden City Park to be categorized as surplus and called for a motion.

Upon a motion by Councilwoman Julie Fields and a second by Councilwoman Julie Getz, the motion passed.

Mayor Briscoe then brought the body’s attention to Resolution No. R23-013 Board of Adjustments Appointment and called for a motion. Upon a motion by Councilwoman Carol Mallory and a second by Councilman Forrest Brillhart, there was some discussion about putting the initial terms of each board member of this newly formed Board into the resolution. A motion was made to amend the resolution by Councilwoman Mallory and seconded by Councilman McDaniel;. The motion passed.

Mayor Briscoe moved to Resolution No. R23-014 Authorization of Purchasing A CD from F& C Bank and called for a motion.

Upon a motion by Councilwoman Fields and a second by Councilman Brillhart, the motion passed.
Mayor Briscoe then moved to Bill No. 07-01-23 Volunteer Firefighter Insurance Renewal, did the first reading and called for a motion.
