No Fireworks At Holden City Park This Year

Recently a citizen proposal for getting a fireworks display was presented and reviewed in cooperation with the Holden Chamber of Commerce. It was an attempt to piece together some aspects that would be needed for a fireworks show.

After talking with businesses, like Wald Fireworks, it was determined the cutoff date to book a packaged show with them had passed for 2023. From the proposal we (City Council) endeavored to put the individual pieces: operator with needed insurance, fireworks products, spectator insurance, fire department information, funding, etc. into a complete package.

Regrettably, the plan to put these “piece parts” together would not meet the needed regulatory, safety, and liability requirements.
