H.O.P.E. Takes Up Business Items In Regular Board Meeting
Routine business items had the attention of the H.O.P.E. Board of Directors when the body gatherered for its Wednesday, April 19 meeting.
Two requests for rental of Community Activity Center were taken up by the Board early in the meeting.
The first was from Tara Martley, for a March of Dimes fundraiser, which will be held at a date in December. That was approved by the Board with a stipulation that the previous rate agreed to would be in force only for that one event.
Next, was a fundraiser for the 2024 Project Graduation. Tonyea Inglis requested use of the CAC for a Class of 2024 Project Graduation Rummage Sale fundraiser. The facility would be needed from 6 – 10:00 p.m. on a Thursday night through approximately 5:00 p.m. the immediately following Saturday. The rummage sale would be held on Friday and Saturday, with setting up being on Thursday night. All proceeds from the rummage sale will go to support the Class of 2024 Project Graduation. Any items left over from the rummage sale would be donated (to the point of their capacity to accept donations) to the HOPE Thrift Store.
Kristan Frame made a motion that the CAC building rental fees be 100 percent waived for the fundraiser. Kristy Talley seconded the motion. After discussion, the board voted unanimously in favor, with Tonyea Inglis (H.O.P.E. Boardmember) abstaining from the vote.
Inglis will work with Boardmember Robin Stevenson to find an acceptable date for the fundraiser and get it on the calendar.
