Holden Senior Center To Celebrate Move To New Location

The Holden Senior Center will celebrate its move to its new location with an open house March 28.

The public is invited to the celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center’s new location, 605 E. 10th Street, inside the Holden United Methodist Church.

The event will feature refreshments, demonstrations, door prizes, and a drawing for a gift basket. Guests can learn about the programs and services of Care Connection for Aging Services, which operates the center.

Center Coordinator Joyce Lagud said she’s looking forward to the relocation of the center to the church.

“I want there to be humor, light-heartedness, and I just want people to feel welcome,” said Lagud, who has worked for the center for 22 years. “When we close one door, we open another. I am hoping to reach more of the community. I want it to be a welcoming place where people want to come, hang out and enjoy each other’s company.”

The center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The center’s meals will be provided by Warrensburg Senior Center.
