Lake Committee Discusses Creation Of Master Plan

Volunteer Project Completed… Three picnic tables, which were left over assets from from the Holden City Park, recently were moved and installed on the north side of the Holden City Lake just east of the boat ramps. The Holden Lake Committee met Tuesday, Jan 17.
The first item discussed was the creation of a Holden Lake Master Plan to guide us as we develop the lake as a real community resource.

The goal is to enhance the areas around the shelter house on the south side and the boat ramp on the north side with picnicking facilities, bathroom facilities and possible fishing docks.
Community lake activities such as fishing tournaments, kayak races, fishing and boating seminars and 1.5k or 3k runs were discussed as well.

The Holden Lake is an excellent community resource and needs to used more. There are grants available to upgrade the facilities and with some…
