The Holden Foundation started off the 2022-2023 school year with a big bang.
First, it donated $2,000 to provide (over-the-head) headphones for all students in grades K–8th grade.
These will be used for many years to come.
This was the first year for the district to provide all school supplies for students.
But that was just the start of things to come.
Serving Walking Tacos at Holden’s Sept. 9 football game brought in a fundraiser profit of $611.00.
Seven years ago, (2016) the Foundation was asked to host the annual chili supper event to help provide the Holden Activities Department with a scholarship for graduation.
Since then, the chili supper evolved into the popular Walking Taco ‘0n the Move’ meal, adding them to the menu in 2018.
Lots of thanks go to Kyndal (and Duane) Phelps for coordinating this event every year, as well as to Dale Callahan (and dad, Marion) for providing the beef for more than 50 years.
Adding to the exciting year, the Foundation awarded 11 Teacher Impact Grants, with a whopping $12,196.33, in October!
Foundation members noted donations like this makes it so exciting to be able to share with the Holden community…
