The Holden Area Chamber of Commerce enjoyed another well-attended and enjoyment-filled evening last Friday night when it hosted it’s annual awards banquet at the Community Activity Center in Holden.

During the gathering, attendees were treated to a social hour, great meal catered by Jamie’s Place, presentation of awards and games, this year themed “Casino Night.”

While the night was filled with plenty of food and entertainment, it was highlighted by the awarding of honors to those who have helped make the Holden area a great place to live.

Among those recognized for their contributions were Phil and Samantha Roberts and Charley and Shelli Tilden who received HOPE Awards. The award is a relatively new one, dating to 2020, for “Making a difference by giving HOPE to the community.”
Phil and Sam were recognized for “…always working behind the scenes and committing to all things pet related in the community,” while Charley and Shelli were acknowledged for their “…constant support of community events, offering their property for use during the fair and any other time.”

Also honored was Jennifer Gavoli, who was presented with the Horizon Award. Each year a community member who has gone above and beyond, to make something happen that broadens the horizons of the area and helps it succeed into the future is recognized.
