Community Cleanup Set For Oct. 22
A Community Cleanup for recycling, waste and collection has been set from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday Oct. 22 at 106 North Buffalo Street in Holden.
The cleanup, for residents of Johnson County, only will be accepted from residents, not commercial businesses.
Items to be accepted include: furniture, clothes, four tires per home at $2.00 per tire, additional tires at $5.00 each, e-waste, bulk debris and two appliances per home. Freon based appliances such as window units/refrigerators WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. In addition, yard waste will not be accepted at this event. Also, household hazardous waste will not be accepted at the cleanup. (Note: For household hazardous waste drop-off locations please visit moswmd-f.com/recycling-disposal -information).
A reuse swap area will be available for residents to drop and swap re-useable collected items such as furniture and appliances.
The event is sponsored by The City of Holden, Johnson County Commission, Johnson County Economic Development Corporation and West Central Solid Waste Management District.
