R-III Board Of Education Has Regular Meeting Sept. 12

The recognition of two Holden High School athletes, monthly reports and approval of various new business items consumed the bulk of the agenda when the Holden R-III Board of Education met Sept. 12.

Early in the meeting, student athletes Garrett Smith were recognized by the Board for their performances on the baseball field this year.

Both were named to the Missouri All-State team and were honored with trophies.

Moving on to reports, the Board heard first from Wende Verdeja, First Student Regional Manager, and Jessica Talley, First Student Terminal Manager, concerning annual transportation updates.

They reported that an average of 622 students were transported last year, traveling 185,456 miles on regular routes and 48,279 miles on special education routes.
