Holden Street Fair Set For August 25
The schedule is out, the Holden Area Chamber of Commerce is hard at work and the carnival will be setting up soon for the annual Holden Street fair.
Set to begin Aug. 25 and run through Aug. 27, the Fair promises to have a wide variety of fun, games, contests and rides for all ages.
In preparation for the Ag, Art, Flower and Home EC shows at the Community Activity Center (CAC), entry registration will take place from Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Registration for those events will continue the following morning (Thursday, Aug. 25) from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
At 8:00 a.m. that same morning Window Display judging for area businesses will take place.
Then, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., judging of Ag, Art, Flower and Home E shows – (CAC CLOSED TO PUBLIC) will happen.
Later, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., Ag. Art, Flower and Home Ec. entries will be open for public viewing.
At 6:00 p.m., the National Anthem and presentation of colors – will take place at the Grandstand and will be followed by the dedication of the Life Celebration Theater from 6:10 – 6:20 p.m.
At 6:20 p.m. the introduction of this year’s Grand Marshal, Lisa Cantrell will take place at the Grandstand.
Following from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m., Little Miss/Mr. Holden; Youth Miss Holden; Pre-Teen Miss Holden; Jr Miss Holden; and Miss Holden contests will be held at the Grandstand.
Friday, Aug. 26 brings a day shows, music and a tournament. From 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.; the Ag, Art, Flower and Home Ec. exhibits will be on display at the CAC.
In the afternoon, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., KMZU will be broadcasting live from the fairgrounds.
