Swap & Shop Off To Good Start

Swap & Shop… The Miller Mausoleum Swap and Shop is off to a good start this summer. Vendors and individuals have been offering a good variety of merchandise for sale. Youth enterprising businesses are allowed free space to sell their products if they are 18 years old or younger. One teenager sold spare automobile parts last month and two young girls recently sold refreshing lemonade and homemade cookies. They were working toward paying their own way to swim at the Kansas City water park. Another recent vendor offered a beautiful display of her creative work. We never know what to expect at each event. Adults are charged $10 a space for each day. Hours of operations are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday on the second and fourth weekends of each month. The great grandson of the builder of the historic building offers tours during the sales. The owner, Carl Cranfill, is promoting this as a community service and he often waives the fee for those in need. The funds raised go back into the grounds and building maintenance. The next event will be August 13 and 14. More information is available on Instagram or Facebook at Miller Mausoleum or calling the owner, Carl Cranfill, at 916-223-9878. Photo by Carl Cranfill
