Cynthia Freeman Takes Over As New City Administrator
In a recent meeting, the Holden City Council hired Cynthia Freeman, Kingsville, MO, as it’s new City Administrator.
While she will have other duties, her main focus will be to oversee all financial matters pertaining to the City.
Freeman brings a wealth of experience to the position, including almost five years with the Missouri Department of Revenue as Tax Auditor and 10 years in construction accounting and office management.
She also holds undergraduate and graduate degrees with an emphasis in management and accounting from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, and the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ, respectively.
Along the way she has held positions as Auditor, Office of the State Auditor of Missouri; Financial Analyst, for the City of Raymore, MO, and most recently, Budget & Fiscal Officer, for the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County.
As a resident of Kingsville, Freeman is well acquainted with Holden and the surrounding area.
In recent weeks, Freeman had been working with the City on budget matters and so impressed Mayor Ray Briscoe and the City Council, they felt she would be the best choice for the City Administrator position.
“Cynthia has such great knowledge and understanding about our current situation that we felt she would be a real asset to us going forward,” said Briscoe.
