Chamber Discusses Monument, Parking

It was a light agenda when the Holden Area Chamber of Commerce met earlier this month.

After minutes and financials were approved, one item in old business was taken up.

It was reported a monument stone had been ordered from Dan Cast commemorating the donors for the recently-completed electrical project.

It is to be placed in the downtown park.

In new items, downtown parking was discussed.

Some downtown businesses expressed concerns, suggesting two-hour parkings signs be placed on second street.

They also felt if the street was open, entertainment events, at the soon-to-be Life Celebration Theater could be more widely enjoyed.

In other new business, Allen Mench reported he will be working on a ribbon cutting for the Stewart family.
