St. Patrick’s Day Parade is Saturday; Pot of Gold Promo On Tap

The Holden Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, which will be held this Saturday, March 13 at 3:30 p.m.

Line-up is at 3 p.m. by Campbell-Cast Funeral Home on Pine St.

Judging will take place prior to the start of the parade, during line-up.

All are welcome to participate! Any individual, business or organization who would like to enter the parade should contact Jennifer Smithson, parade chairman, by March 11 (today) by calling 816-850-5516.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places.

This year’s parade route will be a little different due to the construction taking place on 2nd St.

The new route the parade will follow will be traveling north on Pine St. to 3rd St., turning west on 3rd and going to Main St., heading south on Main to 5th St., and taking 5th St. back to the funeral home.

As well as the fun of the Irish parade, the Chamber is once again sponsoring the Pot of Gold promotion.

Chairman Darcy Roach instructs people to “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” to fun, and enjoy local shopping.

Each Holden business will have their own special Irish promotions that day and maps of participating businesses will be available.
