HAMA Souper Bowl Collects 15,187 Cans of Soup

The Holden Area Ministerial Association (HAMA) just concluded its annual Souper Bowl contest on February 7.

Area churches and community members are always so good to participate in the good-natured competition, with the real winners being those in the community who will now have hearty, delicious soup all throughout the cold winter months.

Following are totals from each church and the Holden Schools.

The winner of this year’s contest is New Life Fellowship Church, with a total of 5,618 cans. NLF can proudly claim the highly sought-after HAMA Souper Bowl traveling trophy.

Holden United Methodist collected 3,100 cans; Holden First Baptist Church, 2,848 cans; First Christian Church, 1,816 cans; Holden Schools donated 800 cans; Wesley Chapel Kingsville, 736 cans; and Kingsville Baptist Church collected 269 cans.

Total cans of nutritious soup collected was 15,187!

HAMA wishes to thank everyone for participating.

“Great job by all the participating churches!” said HAMA member Pastor Mike Wakeman of New Life Fellowship Church.
