Recognition Day Ceremony To Be Held
Holden Memorial VFW Post 5844 and its Auxiliary are hosting a POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony on September 18.
The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. at the Dillon-Mickey Park on 2nd Street in downtown Holden.
The program will culminate in the Missing Man Table Remembrance ceremony.
“The program will prove to be educational, as well as very moving for those in the community,” say Auxiliary members.
“Our organizations look forward to seeing members of our community in attendance.”
On Recognition Day, people honor the commitments and sacrifices of those men and women who have been Prisoners of War or are still Missing In Action.
“We seek to return them home from their tours to join with their comrades,” Auxiliary members added.
“We forever keep in mind their families patiently waiting to receive word that their loved one has been found and is returning home.”
The VFW and Auxiliary encourage the public to come join them as they celebrate and remember our missing warriors.
