He Is Risen!
On the third day, after much heartache and confusion, Jesus Christ arose! That blessed Easter morning, Christ conquered death and the grave and made a way for us to have eternal life. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God! The morning we have been eagerly anticipating is finally here! From Ash Wednesday until Easter morning, we have awaited His resurrection – and now, we can rejoice and celebrate for the sacrifice He made to save us. The season of Lent was a time for reflection, searching our souls to see what the Lord sees when He looks at us. We make reparation for our sins and draw nearer to God, as He, in His mercy, forgives us and draws near to us. Springtime is the perfect time for us to celebrate Easter. All the world is new again – the flowers begin to lift their heads skyward after a season of being buried in the cold winter ground. The trees begin to leaf out and the grass begins its greening process once more. This spring, with all that’s happening in the world, we need to observe and appreciate the blessed glory of the season even more than usual. Just like us, all of God’s wonderful nature is given another chance to rise up, shine, and be beautiful. Our sins can be forgiven and we get a new season to bloom where we’re planted. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16 The promises of God are abundant and He Who promised is faithful. Whatever trials or storms you are facing, and I know they are many right now, cry out to God and He will come and rescue you. In His great love, which surpasses all understanding, He will seek out His children, forgive their sins, and wash them white as snow. This is the promise we celebrate on Easter morning – a promise of salvation and eternal life in Heaven with our Savior. The stone was rolled away, and the tomb was empty, for Christ has risen, giving us hope for brighter tomorrows and another chance to draw near to Him. Although this year’s Easter celebrations will be different for all of us, the message of victory is still the same. I hope your Easter morning is a blessed time of remembering His sacrifice and celebrating our redemption, even in the midst of this horrific pandemic that seems to have taken over our world. Just remember, “…This too shall pass.” And, we are not alone, for Jesus said, “I will leave you never.”
