Holden High School BOE Holds Two Meetings In August

The Holden High School Board Of Education held Two meetings in August. The first was a regularly scheduled meeting Aug. 10, followed by a special meeting on Aug. 13.

Aug. 10 Meeting

Tax Rate Hearing
Prior to the regular meeting, Superintendent Christy Harrison conducted a tax rate hearing at 5:55 p.m. Reported was proposed tax rates of $3.550 Incidental; $0.8400 Debt Services and $0.2000, so the projected tax rate would remain unchanged from the previous year at a total rate of $4.5900. She stated the county assessed valuation was estimated at $157,263,360.
Afterward, the regular meeting was called to order, norms were reviewed and the consent agenda was approved, which included:
• Minutes from the June 25th meeting;
• Payment of Bills and Financial Statement; and
• Sub List Changes that included: Aiden Christian, Pam Daldrup, Stephanie Edwards, Jessie Hood and Karley Kilgore.
The motion Motion carried 7-0.
Jenny Whitehead was added to the sub list with a motion by Sarah Able, seconded by Georgia Jarman. The motion carried 6-0-1. Ann Cates abstained.
