Reorganization, New Business Items Highlight Holden R-III BOE Meeting

A reorganization of the R-III Board of Education and a number of new business items highlighted the agenda when the body held its monthly meeting Monday, April 13.

Reorganization

As a result of the April 7 Municipal Election, the Board seated three new members. Those were: Georgia Jarman. Debbie Doney and Jaime Schutte.

They replaced outgoing members Tonyea Inglis, Alex Haun and Matt Ferguson, all who did not seek reelection. To recognize their collective 18 years of service to the district (Inglis – 9 years), Haun – 6 years and Ferguson, 3- years), each was presented with a plaque for their time, dedication and commitment.

After being sworn in, the newly constituted board elected its officers. Those included:
• President – Ann Cates;
• Vice President – Sarah Abel;
• Treasurer – Bobby Zimmer; and
• Secretary – Tracy Schumate.

Student Recognition

Prior to the swearing in of the new Board, one sports and one academic team was recognized.
