Voters To Decide, School Board, City Council, Proposition Next Week

Tuesday, April 8, local residents will decide city council and school board races as well as one proposition when they head to the polls in a General Municipal Election.

In the Holden election for city council, seats are up in every ward, with some having no candidates at the time of this writing.

In Ward I, Councilman Morgan Pemberton seeking re-election to a two-year term unopposed.

In Ward II, there currently are no eligible candidates for one, two-year term. The position was left open when current Councilman Gary Goodfellow chose not to seek re-election.

Earlier, Beverly Trupp, a newcomer to Holden, had filed for the seat, but since moved out of state. Due to the timing of her departure, her name will still be on the ballot, but she is not eligible for the position. Barring any write-in efforts, this would leave one Ward II seat vacant.
