Police Apprehend Man Charged With Starting Fire In Holden
On October 28, 2024, at about 2:25 p.m. Holden Police Officer Dylan Hardy was on patrol and witnessed a fire being started in a field off 14th street, Holden, Missouri. Due to the dry conditions and winds the fire quickly spread across the field behind the City Park.
Holden Police Officers, assisted by Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper, quickly blocked off roads and began notice of possible evacuations.
The Holden Fire Department responded quickly and began fighting the fire, which grew to encompass about 15 acres. Johnson County Fire Protection District #2 also responded to assist on the incident. Fire personnel were able to contain and get the fire under control.
