Water Superintendent Makes Succession Proposal In The Event Of His Retirement

Tony Lerda, Holden Water Superintendent, made a proposal concerning his succession in the event of his retirement to the Holden Board Of Public Works when the body met Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Lerda said in the past he had signalled the Board of his desire to take on less responsibilities at O&M Enterprises, Inc. with the goal of creating an internal structure for the company to continue after his retirement. That not proving successful, however, he had turned to entertaining the option of finding another managing company for the Board to consider. One option includes a partnership with the company, Alliance Water.

He noted with the experience of the current O&M staff and the strength of a much larger company with more resources available, the City of Holden would be well served. With that, he introduced Tim Geraghty, Alliance Water President, who in turn introduced his company’s Director of Operations, Josh Duncan.

Geraghty then began a presentation about his company, headquartered in Columbia, MO. He explained how the company operates, what services it would provide, the potential savings involved, how yearly reviews are conducted to determine rates, and other pertinent information. He added he is working with Supt. Lerda to dissect the expenses and determine what the role of O&M will continue to be.
