Sale Of Old Central Bank Building, Old Hotel Structural Problems, Taken Up By Holden City Council
The City Council met on May 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall with a full quorum of the council members. The city’s attorney was also in attendance, was well as several community members.
After the previous month’s meetings were approved, Mayor Ray Briscoe gave the following updates:
• The City of Holden has closed for the sale of the bank building at the corner of 2nd and Market.
• The Family Dollar/Dollar Tree is now open but is operating under an 80 day Temporary Certificate of Occupancy and a financial security pledge agreement until the leaseholders complete the FEMA requirements.
• The surface water detention structure to protect the Waste Water Treatment Facility has completed construction and is functionally complete. This structure performed well during the recent storms and heavy rains.
