Candidates Vie For Positions On Holden City Council, Holden R-III School Board

City Council Candidates
With the April 2 General Election just days ahead, several important races are to be decided.

One of these is the Holden City Council, in which seats in three wards will be contested.

In Ward 1-B incumbent Julie Getz will face Guy Barwick for a two-year term.

In Ward 3-B, incumbent Larry Miller will face Lewis (Jack) Leary, also for a two-year term.

And, in Ward 4-B, incumbent Allen Mensch will go against Rich Pearson for a two-year stint as well.

Also running for City Council will be Morgan Pemberton in Ward 1-A, for a 1-year term. Pemberton was appointed to the seat after the resignation of a former Council member, and is running unopposed.

Also running unopposed is incumbent Carol Mallory in Ward 2-B. That will be for a two-year term.

No one filed for the Ward 2-A seat, though there have been indications an individual may mount a write-in candidacy for the 1-year term. That seat was also vacated when a former Council member resigned.
